What is the Democratic caucus?
A precinct caucus is a meeting of fellow Democrats from your local precinct to elect delegates to your county party’s Democratic assembly. Learn more about this grassroots-driven process via the Colorado Democratic Party.
When are the 2026 Democratic caucuses? Are they in person or online?
Caucuses will happen during the first week of March, between March 3 and March 7, depending on which county you live in.
Historically, caucus has always been a one-day event across the state during the first week of March. Now county parties have the option to pick days that best suit them.
Counties also have the option to conduct caucuses in person or as virtual online meetings.
Who can participate in the Democratic precinct caucuses?
To be an eligible caucus-goer:
You must be a registered voter and registered as a Democrat.
You must be registered to vote and a resident of your precinct at a minimum of 22 days before the caucus.
Pre-registered Democratic voters (ages 16 - 17) are eligible to attend, vote and run to be a delegate.
