Jessie Danielson Wins HD-24 Primary

WHEAT RIDGE, CO – Jessie Danielson tonight secured the Democratic nomination in the Colorado State House District 24 primary election. Danielson defeated her opponent, Edgewater City Councilmember Kristian Teegardin, winning nearly 56% of the vote at first count.

“I am honored that House District 24 Democrats have put their trust in me tonight,” said Danielson. “I’ll fight for a better Colorado – a Colorado where everyone has a chance to succeed and an economy that works for everyone. I am going to work hard to win the November election, and in the Statehouse I will be a strong voice for my district.”

District 24 is in north central Jefferson County; including Wheat Ridge, Golden, Edgewater, Applewood, Fairmount, Mountain View and Lakeside, as well as parts of both Lakewood and Arvada.

Democratic Majority Leader Dickey Lee Hullinghorst commented, “Jessie Danielson is just the kind of qualified, experienced leader we need at the Statehouse. Her dedication has helped improve the lives of women and expanded every Coloradan’s access to the ballot box.”

Jessie Danielson serves as State Director for America Votes. She was appointed by Governor Hickenlooper to the Voter Access and Modernized Election Commission to oversee implementation of election law and is a long-time advocate for greater access for everyone in the political process. She also chairs the board of Emerge Colorado, an organization that encourages and trains Democratic women to run for office, and she serves on the boards of NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado and ProgressNow Colorado. Danielson is a former statewide political director for NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado.
